So, it’s going to be a little longer until I can get the new comic up, what with the two jobs and the death cold keeping me up all night and such – however, just for you, I made a little picture about THE BEST POWER-UP IN THE HISTORY OF GAMING.
I’ve been making my way through Super Mario Bros. 3 lately, just for fun. Nostalgia definitely goes a long way when it comes to the eight-bit era, but this game holds up perfectly. Tight controls, perfect level design, and great art direction make it one of the real stand outs from my horribly misspent youth. The best part are the super short levels. Just when you think you’ll never beat that one brutal level, it’s over. Sometimes it’s only one or two major obstacles per level. It can be hard, but never frustrating.
All of this would still make for an amazing game, but the addition of the Kuribo’s Shoe pushes it into gaming history. Seriously, in a game with tons of different suits, common and rare, the designers still decide its just not enough. So, in ONE level and only one, you get this…
