I realize that I left you, darling reader, with a bit of a cliff hanger.  A new comic will be forthcoming next week…but for right now you must make do with more new-old content. Namely, early character sheets! Holy evolution!

Old and crappy. Nice.

Old and crappy. Nice.

This first one is probably one of the earliest surviving drawings of the kids (minus Shelley, she came a little bit later). You can tell, because at the time they were still attending an elementary school instead of a boarding school for geniuses. I can’t remember exactly when I switched over, but it was canonical (HA) by the time I started my first mini-comic with the kids in 2001.

You can see from this drawing of Been  that the core of the characters was there early on, but the designs have changed quite a bit over time. A lot of times simply because I changed the tool I was using.

Not worse, but not better.

I think this one comes from right around the time I did that first mini-comic mentioned above. Maybe if you’re lucky I’ll show you that someday. It really looks awesome. Honest.
