Raindrops are not teardrops Part 16

This storyline begins here.

Well, another half-week, another slightly above-average comic strip. I definitely draw better than my mom does, anyway. Quirky fact of the week: I started doing my underdrawing in red pencil, and the more refined stuff over it in blue. So it should be 3-D, right? Like those crappy books from when I was kid…

Billy the Dunce Strip #41 Playlist:

Arrested Development Season 2 (for about the 15th time.)
Hot Rod
Beasts of Burden #3 (seriously gang – go buy ALL these comics. B of B is amazing, and Dark Horse should make it an ongoing series. Don’t trust me – Read the shorts and spread the word..)

Seeing as how Been seems to have a particular outlook on life (based on this comic) and how to keep from being miserable, what do you guys do to keep the misery at bay? Me, I draw a webcomic. It makes me happy, for sure. (Also, flyky helps keep me pretty darn serene as well. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the contribution she makes to my well-being.)

See you in the comments,

J

  1. Gregory says:

Man, Been has it all figured out.

  2. admin says:

Whew! You are the comment ninja my friend. Comment. Ninja. And what are you doing up at this hour, anyway? Only overworked hobbyists should still be awake after midnight.

  3. Gregory says:

And I waited a little bit, too. Heh.
Midnight is nothing. Who needs sleep when you can have… sleep… deprivation? Hey, it cured my insomnia. I expect to become an overworked hobbyist anyway, so good practice.

  4. Randall Drew says:

He’s not the only ninja…or maybe I’m just one of those overworked…wait, this isn’t a hobby!

  5. Phaeton says:

Well, if it can comfort anyone, I stayed up until 4am to finish some work. That didn’t help me see that comic in time though, due to time lag between Japan and… err, wherever you are (United States, I guess?).

  6. Phaeton says:

What? Your blog says that I posted at 4:28 am, but it’s 5:28 PM here. Right now I’m having a weird feeling that today was just a dream and that I’ll have to do everything all over again… Noooo :P

  7. Jay Tea says:

Been has a great future ahead of her as a motivational speaker.

Hell, I’m thinking of going and making myself a sammich right now.

  8. flyky says:

I think that I need to put that last panel up to read every morning. I should go and make a sammich for my lunch today. I love that the zombie has an eyeball, a couple of strands of hair, and ….wait, can he even eat a sammich?

  9. flyky says:

oh, and you make me “pretty darn serene” too.

  10. admin says:

Oops. Sorry Phaeton, I guess I didn’t switch over to daylight savings. Sorry to mess with your head.

  11. Sam says:

    Been gets me every time.

  12. Phaeton says:

Well, with or without saving time, it’s still a difference of half a day…

  13. Jen Vaughn says:

    Psuedo make me a sammich!

The Zombie’s expression in panel 4 is PRICELESS. Little eye looking up at Been. Sigh…perfect.
