That lad up there zapping a tentacle is Billy. Billy attends a school for child geniuses because he happened to accidentally score immeasurably high on his second grade IQ test. Why does he wear the dunce cap? It’s a long story. Mostly, he likes to argue.
Because Billy scored so high on his test, he not only was sent away to a special school – he also got stuck with the cream of the crop, the smartest of the smart, the essentially unteachable. Kids with specialties and intellects beyond the comprehension of anyone but their peers. Kids who go unsupervised and ignored for weeks at a time. It’s actually surprising that this whole thing hasn’t devolved into lord of the flies yet.
The Cast (so far)
This is Anton. He does magick.
Not that namby-pamby toy store magic. No, he does magick. You know, with a K. Nobody really knows why it works for him- it hasn’t for anyone else in the history of mankind.Anton and Gibble (see below) have a friendly but dangerous rivalry. They pit their skills against each other once a week, on usually on Monday. So far there haven’t been any major injuries, but it’s just a matter of time…
Likes: Rockabilly, a neat room, high ceilings
Dislikes: Girls, Magic (especially card tricks), Science (except in dire situations – like that one time he had to use a jet-pack.)
Temperament: Not great.
This is Been. She’s a demon.
Well, more accurately – she’s a succubus. But being eight, that’s a bit of a contradiction. However, being a walking contradiction does have it’s advantages. Been can usually slide in and out of any situation unscathed, like she’s wasn’t even really there…Been’s been hanging around the dorm a lot lately, ever since Billy arrived at the school. Before, she would only pop up now and again to annoy Anton.
Likes: Annoying Anton, portals, cute things, dead things, Billy.
Dislikes: Unknown.
Temperament: Unflappable.
This is Gibble. He’s a Scientist.
While one couldn’t refer to him as mad per se, he doesn’t have a very well developed sense of morality, either. When he’s got a new device to be tested, it’s prudent to get as far away as possible.Gibble will associate with anyone that can be useful to him, regardless of race or sex. Because of this, Anton often teases him for being a “girl liker.”
Likes: Alternate dimensions, improbability, videogames, spaghetti.
Dislikes: String theory, quiet, losing his welding helmet.
Temperament: Impishly frigid.
This is Shelley. She’s a Medical Whiz.
Other than Billy, Shelley is the member of the group most taxed by the actions of Anton and Gibble. She isn’t driven by altruism or compassion, but rather an obsessive need to fix living things that become broken. Unfortunately, this mean she spends a lot of time fixing up cats – an animal she despises. Oh, and Anton – another animal she despises.
Likes: Solitude, Stickers, Electron Microscopy
Dislikes: Cats, Anton.
Temperament: Friendly, but cautiously so.
This is the Author. He is Quite Dynamic.
Hence, the lightning bolt.
Likes: lightning bolts, the wife, one of his cats, and purple.
Dislikes: the other cat.
Temperment: Drunkenly lovable.

You, sir…. are a hero.
